What are the Big Three?
The Sun, Moon and Ascendant are three of the most commonly discussed placements in modern Western astrology. The Sun is traditionally associated with identity and direction, the Moon with emotional patterns and needs, and the Rising sign with the eastern horizon at birth and the structure of the houses.
What do you need to calculate them?
Use your birth date, exact local birth time and birthplace. Date alone usually settles the Sun sign, but the Moon can change sign during a day and the Ascendant moves much faster, often changing signs in roughly two hours.

What if you do not know your birth time?
Do not treat an estimated Rising sign as exact. An uncertain time can also change house placements and, on some dates, the Moon sign. Use the most reliable recorded time you have and keep uncertainty visible.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. The current DestinyU Western astrology calculation can be started without creating an account. Astrological meanings are offered as a cultural and symbolic framework for reflection, not a scientific personality test or fixed prediction.
