What the Four Pillars represent
The four pillars do not simply mean four separate predictions. Traditional readers use them as a structured map of a birth moment. The year, month, day and hour each contribute symbolic information, while the Day Stem is often used as a reference point for discussing the person whose chart is being read.
Different schools may emphasize different relationships or timing methods. That is one reason two readers can discuss the same chart in different language without one of them necessarily having copied the other.
Five Phases and balance
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are better understood as symbolic categories of change than as literal substances inside a person. A reading looks at how strongly these categories appear, how they support or control one another, and how season and context change their relative weight.
A simple count is therefore not the whole reading. A chart with several symbols from one phase is not automatically good or bad. Interpretation depends on relationships, timing and the framework being used.
- Wood is commonly associated with growth and extension.
- Fire is commonly associated with expression and activation.
- Earth is commonly associated with stability and mediation.
- Metal is commonly associated with structure and refinement.
- Water is commonly associated with movement, storage and adaptation.
How to read a DestinyU Saju result
Start with the description of your basic structure rather than jumping to a single favorable or unfavorable label. Then read the sections about work, relationships and longer-term flow as related perspectives on the same symbolic chart.
Use repeated themes as prompts for reflection: where do they match your experience, where do they not, and what context might explain the difference? The most useful reading is one that helps you articulate a choice or pattern more clearly.
Birth time and uncertainty
Birth time can affect the hour pillar and some timing interpretations. If your time is unknown or approximate, treat conclusions that depend heavily on the hour with more caution. Time-zone and calendar conversion can also matter for technical calculations.

What Saju cannot prove
Saju is a cultural and symbolic interpretation system, not a scientifically validated method for predicting events or diagnosing personality. A chart cannot establish medical, financial, legal or relationship outcomes.
